What is a A5 Chord?

This Chord is made up of three musical note, a combination of two root notes with its 5th note (E). This is one of the most important chords of the same scale. It is less used chord compared to other chords of its family-like major, minor, 7th, etc.

Difference with Power Chord

Basically, this is 3note chord and its power chord is a two-note chord.
To play this chord we need three string or note as root not, 5th note and another root note. while in power chord only two strings or notes be played as root note and its 5th note

How to play this Chord?

This is the easiest shape in its open position. Place your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the 2nd string, 3rd finger on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string, and 5th string is played as open.

This is another version of this Chord on the 2nd fret. This shape is a little bit tough to play properly because of its distance between the 2nd fret and 5th fret. Keep 4th string open then with your 1st finger on the 2nd fret of both 3rd and 4th string.
