Jane’s Addiction Members Work on New Music Without Perry Farrell Amid Band Hiatus

🎸🔥 Rock legends in turmoil! Months after a shocking onstage brawl left Jane’s Addiction on hiatus, three band members are cooking up new music—but without frontman Perry Farrell! 🤯 What’s next for the iconic group? Let’s dive in! 🎤👀

Afterward, months down the line, three of Jane’s Addiction’s band members are now making music without Perry Farrell.

It all began during a performance on September 13, at Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion, where while playing “Ocean Size”, Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro. This unexpected act led to Farrell being restrained by crew members and dragged away from the stage. Visibly angry, Navarro left his guitar behind and walked off stage before the set ended.

There was a lot of talk following the incident amongst industry insiders that forced Jane’s Addiction to cancel their tour for the rest of it. According to another statement released by bassist Eric Avery together with drummer Stephen Perkins as well as Dave Navarro adds some mental health issues contributed towards the decision to go on an indefinite break. To be forgiven for his “inexcusable behavior,” Farrell later made an apology in public taking full responsibility for himself.

Ironically enough, during this period of vacation after which they were supposed to be glad acting nothing else but typical human beings until next year, came July’s Imminent Redemption and then True Love a second single in 2024. It had been almost thirty-five years since Jane’s Addiction original line up created new pieces such as these ones.

On January 3rd, Avery posted a video on social media where he played bass lines over a drum track which were said to have been recorded by Perkins. Avery’s caption seemed to suggest future collaborations with Navarro and this got people talking about new music by the three without Farrell. “Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025!” Avery wrote, tagging both Navarro and Perkins.

Following this development, fans are now questioning whether the new material will resemble their earlier project as Deconstruction did. Formed after the first breakup of Jane’s Addiction in 1993, Deconstruction also included Navarro and Avery, accompanied by drummer Michael Murphy. In 1994 they released a self-titled album that got ranked at number 31 in Billboard Heatseekers Albums charts. Nevertheless, it was not until December of 2024 when their album became available for streaming that Deconstruction regained its popularity

That said, there is no indication that Deconstruction is being resurrected but recent developments involving Avery point to an imminent outpouring from former members of Jane’s Addiction. Whether this means something different for the trio or even a potentially new band is yet to be seen.

Jane’s Addiction has new music and it looks like Perry Farrell has gotten into an argument with Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery. There is also a Deconstruction revival in 2006 and some Alternative Rock news of 2025 as well as band hiatus updates that you should know.
